Sure to be more entertaining than the former SNL skit ... Liisa Ladouceur will be giving a talk at the Toronto Public Library (Bloor/Gladstone Branch) about the history of Goth music.
I'm definitely going to be there and if you are at all interested in the history, influences and contemporary directions of Goth music you should be too!
See you there!

From Bauhaus to the Birthday Massacre: Origins and Evolution of Goth Music
Toronto music journalist Liisa Ladouceur, the author of Encyclopedia Gothica, explores the origins and evolution of goth music, using her book's original Goth Band Family Tree to trace its musical branches from 1970s punk and new wave to its diverse subgenres of today, with its connections to heavy metal, folk and even cabaret.
